Mission of the PRMS Media Center

The PRMS Library Media Center's mission is to assist members of the learning community in becoming effective users of information and to foster a love of reading.

In the Media Center we:
- provide print and non-print materials which support the curriculum and information needs of all students, teachers and staff;
- provide instruction which encourages students to grow in their ability to find, generate, evaluate and apply information;
- promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading, viewing and listening.

We strive to provide high-interest material in a welcoming atmosphere with over 12,000 books in print, a kid-oriented magazine collection, and subscriptions to The State and the Lexington Chronicle newspapers. In addition, we have twenty-four computers for student research and homework and for teacher class visits.
